Porto is the second largest city in Portugal and is Portugal. It is also one of four cities in that peninsula to be at least at a Gamma-Level global city. Porto in English is pronounced as Oporto, it also means the port. Porto is located in Northern Portugal beside the Douro River and it is one of the oldest cities in Europe and was declared as a World Heritage site in 1996. Portugal's main export is port wine named after the city of Porto and as you guessed it you can find some along the port of the Douro river.

The bridge lets pedestrians walk across on the top deck of the bridge while cars take the bottom deck. Its tourist favourite to walk into the city and to just see the beauty of the town and the history it holds.

Livraria Lello is a bookstore in Porto that has earned acliam to be one of the top bookstores in the world. It was first opened in 1869. The library is located on Carmelite Street.

Solar do Vinho do Porto is a 18 century manor that now hosts many tourist and teaches them abourt Port wine. This Villa has been a local attraction and is on the list of any tourist because of their collection of different types of wines and the amazing view of the city. The manor is in the neighbooring city of Vila Nova de Gaia and is open from 4pm to midnight very day of the week, except Sundays and holidays.

Serralves the private property open to the public
Serralves is a 18 acre foundation whoes mission is to let people be informed of contemporary arts and the environment. The entry fee is free if you come before 1 pm. The foundation is mostly green scenery with odd sculptures located in different places along the estate. The foundation was a private property in the 70's however now welcomes to the public and invites them to have picnics and enjoy yourself.

Also if you want to vist Porto people from Canada do not need a visa rather just their passport and can stay there for up to 90 days in 6 month increments. So if it so easy to get to Porto all you need is a plane ticket why not go, there are also may othere things to do and many whys to do them. One honurable mention for a place to vist is Estadio Dragao the home of Porto's football club F.C Porto it is said to be one of the best stadiums in the world. The are no foregin disease innPorto that don't exist in Canada. However people in Western Europe are heavy smokers so there is a high chance of picking up second hand smoke. The majority of people that die in Porto die to Non-communicable disease.
